If you’ve read our articles from the past, you’ve likely seen that we keep a pretty close eye on financials and other numbers.

I’m not a numbers person. I’m actually pretty terrible at math, especially beyond Algebra, though I get a kick out of tracking stats and figures from our travels.

Here are some stats about our nine month ‘year of adventure’, February 22 – November 16, spent RVing around America to visit state and national parks.

269 days on the road
29,825 total miles driven
59 parks visited, at least (37 national, 22 state)
11 bears (6 grizzly, 5 black)
198 AdventurePossible.com blog posts
102,996 AdventurePossible.com website visitors
55 Junior Ranger badges, patches and pins for Jane
2 times we lost a kid (and needed help finding them)
2,490 total gallons fuel used
12.0 gallons per mile average
$5,509 total fuel spend
$2.21 avg. cost per gallon
132 gas station stops
8 oil changes
13 tires
1 speeding ticket (69 in a 65)
2 urgent care visits (both for Wilson)
$5,611 average monthly spend (March – October)
$80,842 total cost of adventure, including Airstream travel trailer, car and trailer enhancements, daily living and traveling expenses, and our $5,000 mistake.

So are you keeping the Airstream, or are you taking some time on that decision? Thanks so much for sharing your adventure and best of luck as your family transitions back to jobs and home life.

Hi Dennis, I listed the Airstream for sale, though I’ve not been replying to the emails and calls from people looking to inspect or buy it. Turns out I might have an attachment issue.

Thank you for the good luck. We’re transitioning back into home / work / school life well.
