The Kelleys of Raleigh, NC are the family of four behind AdventurePossible.com, and we are definitely marching to the beat of our own drummer, marching down our own path to lead a life of adventure.
Our approach to a life of adventure looks like this:

The Adventure Possible life borrows five years from retirement. Inspired by Stefan Sagmeister.
In a traditional life, an average person spends the first twenty five years of their life learning through school or trade. The person then spends forty years working with the goal of saving enough money to retire at sixty five. At which time, they hope to enjoy some fifteen years of retirement before venturing into the everlasting unknown.
We modify life’s traditional arc. We borrow five years from retirement, dispersing those years in one year blocks every seven years throughout the typical working years, creating five distinct opportunities for a year of adventure.
In 2016, we had our most recent year of adventure, RV’ing around America in a vintage Airstream to visit all sorts of state and national parks. Our adventure created a little buzz in Raleigh. We were even featured on a popular travel podcast. We’re glad we were able to share our year of adventure with others.
Now that we’re back living and working in Raleigh, advancing our careers and planning for our next year of adventure, we use AdventurePossible.com to keep our adventure spirits thriving.
On this website, we like to write about how to make a life of adventure possible, even when family, career, financial, and other pressures may make the possibility appear slim.
We also like to share our passion for adventure in the North Carolina outdoors. There are so many small adventures to be had right in our backyard, and this website is dedicated to helping others discover weekend adventures in North Carolina.
In addition to small adventures, we also enjoy sharing our more epic adventures, like thru-hiking the Appalachian Trail, biking across America, and RVing across America. We hope our experiences and advice on these life-changing adventures will motivate you to take your own.
And last of all, we enjoy sponsoring would-be adventurers. We have been fortunate in our careers, health, and travels, so we set aside a little money each year for adventure sponsorships.
The best way to keep track of us and the latest content about North Carolina adventures is to sign up for our weekly email in the box below. If you would like to reach out to me personally, please feel free to connect with me through my personal website, http://markwkelley.com.Mark Kelley

This is very bittersweet to me. I am very happy for all of you, to be taking such an adventure, but I don’t get to play with your wonderful little babes for at least a long time! I have to remind myself of what I told Jane–we will see each other again! Thank you for sharing Jane and Wilson with me. The best job I ever had!!!!!
Good Luck!
Hope to sail the seas like you one day, Hunter.
