Fashion Friday! RV Style

Were you at fashion week last month? Did you follow along on Instagram? Have you switched out your clothes for the new season yet? Any cute new “pieces” (I despise that word when talking about clothes, so lame) you plan to purchase?

Not here! Here in the RV it’s items of necessity only. Mark would argue that. He thinks I packed too many clothes. He might be right. I have not worn everything I packed yet. But my argument is that we haven’t been to every climate yet. And if you give me a 12 x 18 inch box and tell me to pack it with clothes for the trip, you best believe I’ll cram it full until the hinges are about to pop.

Let’s take a look shall we?

This box contains my clothing for the entire year. Meep!

Yes, in this box are all the clothes I brought along for the year. Well, I do have a dress (which I plan to dedicate a whole post to), a zip up fleece, and a rain coat hanging in the closet.

But this is it:

2 workout leggings

2 nike tempo shorts

4 long sleeved t-shirts

4 short sleeved t-shirts

2 pairs of jeans

1 bathing suite

1 cover up

2 sets of pajamas

1 hoodie (RBC FOREVER!!)

1 quilted zip vest

1 fleece pull over

4 sports bras

1 real bra

7 pair of underwear

4 pair of socks

Let’s not even talk about shoes! Oh, you really, really want to? Ok, twist my arm. I. LOVE. SHOES. I don’t really love quantities of all kinds of different shoes but when I find a pair that I really love, I LOVE them. No matter the price, I buy them if I know I’ll love and wear them.

Last year I spent $350 on a pair of Stuart Wietzman tassel sandals. You know,  the ones that Target and J-Crew all copied for this year? I lived in those shoes for 6 months. Now, I’m left with the three amigos here….

The three amigos. Keens, flip-flops, mom tennis shoes.

The three amigos. Keens, flip-flops, mom tennis shoes.

I almost didn’t bring any flip flops but I am so glad I snuck them past Mark’s discerning eye. They’re easy to slip on for middle of the night bathroom trips when my Keen’s are wet. But most importantly I don’t have to take them off to scrub my toes and feet when I’m in the shower. My bare feet will not touch a campground bathroom floor. This is my solum vow. I wear socks in nice-ish work hotels because I’m grossed out by the floors. You can only guess my dedication to not coming in contact with campground bathroom floors. SO ICK!

I did have my cute Nike Free’s packed for the trip but these “Mom” tennis shoes not only work well for a quick run but they’re more supportive than “cute Nike free’s” for hiking and what not. Like I said people, I’ve swallowed my pride here and am going for function not fashion.

My Keens. These shoes are great! UGLY as (insert your favorite curse word here) but great. I’ll even go so far as to say you can’t go on a trip like this without them. They are sturdy enough for a hike. Hold their grip really well when it’s wet. You can get them soaked and they dry quickly. And my favorite part by far, THEY DON’T STINK! Our whole family has a pair!

Do you think I packed to much? Anything you’d bring that I didn’t?
