While we were camped in the Allegheny forest in northwestern Pennsylvania, we decided to take a 90 minute day trip north through Buffalo, NY to visit Niagara Falls.
We’re not big on having bucket lists or checking items off lists, but this day trip definitely felt like a list checking activity. We weren’t super pumped for Niagara. We figured though that while we were relatively close and that we might never come so close again, we should take the kids to see the falls.
We enjoyed the fall morning at the falls, walking around the state park on the top of the falls and crossing several bridges as we wrapped around toward the Canada border. Beyond a little walking, seeing the falls, and snapping a few pictures though, there isn’t much else to do without spending money on pricy tourist activities like the Maid of the Mist boat tour or a helicopter tour.
So we checked out the falls and then headed out for the real treat destination…Wegmans grocery store.
