With some time to kill after visiting Embalse El Yeso, we drove along the Rio Maipo for a short hike / scramble in a slot canyon. We passed the well-advertised and popular slot canyon on the river, which had a gate, crowded parking lot, and appeared to charge a fee for entrance. We pressed on further down the road, and we spotted a narrow canyon along the river. We parked by the river and made our way into the canyon. We had fun exploring the canyon and discovered a waterfall waiting for us. Here’s a brief video of the scurry up the canyon creek.
That was so fun and I hope we can do something else like that!
