While traveling for school, the kids have to keep up with their reading and language arts assignments. I do have a few physical books for them but the reality is that 1) We have to travel with whatever we own which doesn’t allow for many physical books. 2) There are very few English book stores in Chile. We went to one and purchasing 5 paperbacks was $70.
The kids each have a Kindle and with the Libby app that connects to our library card and Wake County digital library, I’m able to have 10+ books for them on their Kindles at all times. This allows them to have a selection of literature and their beloved graphic novels on hand. I refuse to purchase graphic novels because they read 3 or 4 in a day.
The selection of audio books is wonderful too. We recently all listened to Hatchet on our car rides, and we all enjoyed it. Wilson every recreated Brian’s bow and arrow and fish spear when we arrived in Futaleufu in Patagonia. If on the off chance you don’t know about Libby, I highly suggest it.

Hey! I made the bow and he made the spear!
