When we got to Chile, we were surprised that they didn’t have a lot of things we were used to, like brown sugar and good produce. But later we found out that instead of putting their attention on the fruit and knocked-over-yogurts all over the shelves, they have a full aisle(s) of canned tuna.
Sure, there’s just something about a bunch of canned tuna perfectly stacked with an aisle to itself in literally every store just makes me want to puke.
But don’t get me wrong, I like tuna sandwiches. But there isn’t that kind of tuna.
The usual “flavors” of tuna you would see in these aisles are, grab a barf bag, tuna in vinegar, tuna in tomato sauce, tuna in mustard, tuna in mayonnaise, tuna in water, tuna in oil, and tuna in milk. When we first walked into Jumbo and saw (and smelled) the tuna, we knew this would be a VERY interesting year.
