I had heard Christmas starts showing up in Chile as soon as their September Independence month ends. But this week when I went on a grocery run and was greeted by a stuffed elf that was a full story tall, I realized Christmas in Chile was on its way. Granted I’m sure Costco and Lowes at home already have Christmas items for sale as well, seeing the slightest bit of festive decor excited me.
Being that December is the start of summer here in Chile, I was hesitant to get jazzed about Christmas at the pool. Being from Florida, I’ve had my share of “tropical” Christmases and lets just say, there’s a reason I moved north.
I did love the giant display of Christmas beach towels and boogie boards. Way to lean into it, Chile. I’m looking forward to seeing what other unique, warm weather Christmas items we encounter.
