We made a last minute call to attend a concert tonight at a cultural center in the neighborhood. We had some expat friends attending, which motivated us to push ourselves to leave the house after dinner. This is not something we normally do. Once night falls, we tend to hole up, still sticking to our 7:30pm teeth brushing time.
The kids rallied their patience to sit through the 90 minutes concert in which a pianist, a cellist, and a violinist played an assortment. The kids will report the event to be boring, though I spotted glimpses of enjoyment and enrichment.
I had to overcome my own flashes of boredom, though in the end, I was pleased we made the decision to go. Not only did we get some enjoyment out of the concert, but also we’re now more excited to attend future events at the cultural center.
