When we traveled to the National Parks in the US, we always got a chuckle out of the foreign tourists that were constantly taking pictures of and trying to befriend squirrels. You might remember that this behavior lead to crazy squirrel attacks at Zion National Park.
Well, here in Chile there are wild parrots / parakeets instead of squirrels, and we’re pretty much the foreign tourists trying to get good pictures of them. The kids and I spent a solid hour one morning walking around parks in the neighborhood, watching the birds build their giant nests.
At least one person rolled their eyes at the “gringos” trying to photograph what are essentially the equivalent of squirrels in everyone’s yards here.
We’re owning it!
