Since being in Chile, we’ve found a couple cool Chilean brands that we really love. There are loads of amazing Chilean outdoor brands here, much like Patagonia and North Face who have some of their roots in Chile. We just haven’t needed anything like that thus far, and since we’re going nomadic soon, we don’t have room for anything extra.
While walking through the mall one night, we spotted a store with tons of cool hats that had Chilean places or Chilean animals on them. Wilson was in need of a hat since even in winter the sun is so strong here. So he decided on a hat that had a Loro Tricahue (a Chilean Parrot) that we see all over the place on it.
We all liked it so much that when Mark lost his beloved Kelley hat, he decided to get a hat from Wild Llama as well.
Our second “need” came when my beloved Lake pajamas I’ve had for 6 years started to finally got holes in them. What can I say, I’ve become accustomed to the cool, soft Pima cotton. I couldn’t settle for a poly-blend from Jumbo. I’m bougie when it comes to my pajamas. Since I knew Lake sources their cotton from Peru, I figured there had to be a Pima cotton option here in Chile. Peru is our neighbor after all. Sure enough, one WhatsApp to my gringos group and I was linked to Black Moby. Black Moby is a pima cotton pajama line created by a Chilean mom. I was able to hunt them down just blocks from me at a super cool store called Creado en Chile and bonus, the were are fraction of the price of my Lake favorites. They are everything I hoped they would be.
This brings me to Creado en Chile. This is a store that sells products made from all over Chile. While I only ran in for a moment to grab my beloved pajamas, the store looks amazing. It has household goods, specialty foods, clothing, shoes, toys, and paper products. I’m really looking forward to seeing what they might have for Christmas.
