When we were in Chiloe on a particularly rainy day and had some time to kill before dinner, we stopped into the Accordion Museum there. The man that ran it was adorable. He had restored hundreds (?) of old accordions.
The kids were kind of meh about it until they realized there were many accordions that you were allowed to pick up and play. Wilson, our family’s musician, was so into it that he declared he wanted to take accordion lessons (along with violin and piano) when we returned to Raleigh.
Both kids played for a while and then the museum owner played a song for us.
It was well worth the stop.
