Did I tell you the big news? We got a pet!
If you know Mark and me this is a huge shock to you.
To say we’re not animal lovers is to put it mildly. In fact if someone were to say “You have to choose between raising another kid or a dog?” I think we’d both take the kid, every time.
Jane is the one who found our new pet. He was just hanging out in our car everyday for a few days. Then he got a name. Marty.
Marty TheFly. Back to the Future lovers, I kid you not.
I attribute it to the fact that Jane needs to be re-socialized and quickly. But she became “friends” with this fly.
He was her pet. We were instructed not to open the car windows until she could train Marty to stay.
She fed him.
She told me that she would bring him bites of her breakfast everyday. Is this true? I’m not certain.
We played along for a solid 24 hours then the phase and Marty passed. Just as quickly as he came, Marty went.
Here’s to you Marty TheFly! The best and only pet the Kelleys will likely ever have.
That’s pretty sad.
