As we make our way across America to southern California, I have become increasingly comfortable with the fact that we can’t experience every great place and park that America has to offer.
One year is a long time, and it seems like enough time to see it all.
Not so.
We’re realizing just how much this country has to offer in terms of natural parks and scenic wonders.
As we go, we’ve passed countless opportunities to explore, zooming past brown signs on the road pointing to national forests, state parks, battlefields and monuments.
Even the parks that we do visit, we find that we only taste what the park has to offer.
We hit the highlights reachable from the main park roads or by hiking or biking the easy to moderate trails that we can explore with kids.
This leaves so much unseen and undone, but we’re good with that.
I’m finding that I am enjoying the journey around America and the time together with the wife and kids as much as I do the places we go and see.
