We’ve talked in the past about the challenges of a family of four sleeping in an RV and early mornings with Wilson, and it seems we’re finally adapting after six months in the trailer. Mark and I have mentioned to each other several times recently how amazing the sleep is that we’ve been getting on our travels. Now that Wilson finally stopped teething and adjusted to the time changes, our sleep life has been glorious!
When we close our eyes at night, we’re usually asleep within 15-20 minutes. The best part is that rarely do we wake up until morning. The last time I did that was when we were carefree and kidless. Its awesome!
Sure, I attribute the good sleep to our high activity level, hiking or biking everyday. But honestly, I think it has more to do with not having a million things on our plates. I used to wake up several times a night and reach for my phone to add to ever growing lists of appointments, work meetings, and social obligations. All the little things that we bother to keep ourselves awake remembering. I don’t do that at all anymore. Life is much more simple.
I’m soaking up all the wonderful sleep while I can. I know all those obligations are coming soon enough.
