im at my 350th mile and I can’t believe that it’s still getting this cold. Low 30s in town so 20s up here in the mountains. I spent the last couple of days hanging out with my girl who decided to come up to see me last minuet. I did as I always do when in a cozy hotel. NOTHING!!!!! I pretty much lay around and rest. I def. get pampered with Mandi. This morn I left out of town and will be in the woods until Demascus. 125 miles away. I am trying to get there in 8-9 days. Today hiking out I ran into a couple familiar faces that were slack packing south 20 miles and staying in a hotel. For those that don’t know what slack packing is. It is when you get someone to take you up a section and let you hike back. This way you only have to take a day pack with you. It was Wilson abd Benjali. I figured it wouldn’t be to long before I saw them again. We exchanged so stories abd had a few laughs and then I pressed on. It was another cloudy and humid day. A lot of hiking in the clouds. Yet it didn’t start raining until I got my tent set up. So that was pretty great. Tonight I am camping in a gap that is pretty much the last place to camp before going over the unkalee mountain or at least something like that. I’m having to camp about 30 yards from a jeep trail with probably 20-25 people camping around me so more than I prefer. Being sunday I have seen lots of weekend off-roaders go by. Hopefully that ends around dark. Tomorrow I’m gonna try and get 16 in but we will see. Mandi also picked me up some sleeping pills so perhaps that wil help with the sleeping issue I have been dealing with.
