This morning started off well. I woke up well rested and to the sound of a river. It was still a bit chilly but not unbearable. The sun was starting to shine and I was the last one out of camp. I didn’t get started hiking until about 9:30am, I just can’t get up when it’s cold out!
The hike today was not bad. Not much to look at except for 3-4 spots other than that lots of Rhododendron and creeks. There was a nice view overlooking the mountains that I just sat and just relaxed and enjoyed for a bit. Someone put a bench out there next to the trail so it was nice. It was a lot of climbing up to this shelter. I was planning on going another 4 miles but I got here and I just felt like staying so I went with it. I made camp and got all set and even cut some logs for the fire that “Columbus” had started, a 25 year old I have been keeping pace with. Then “Happy” showed up. “Doc” was already here as well.
So we are all sitting around the fire when a hail storm hits!! It left a full dusting of ice on the ground and all over my tent. I would love to show you pics of all these crazy great things but my phone camera is out 🙁 So until I get that taken care of you will have to settle for repeats 🙂
