We traveled thousands of miles from Punta Arenas, Chile to Manaus, Brazil. It was a difficult day and night of travel. We flew from Punta Arenas to Santiago, Santiago to Sao Paulo, and Sao Paulo to Manaus, a city of 2.5 million people living in the Amazon. We arrived at the airport well after midnight, and we reached the hotel about 2am. That was terrible.
On our first day in Manaus, we managed to stroll down to the waterfront to see the riverboats and the fish market. But most of the day was spent in and around the pool, bar, and restaurant, recovering from our long day of travel on the previous day.
