We’ve stopped back home in Raleigh to get some work done on the Airstream. We got an awesome new awning installed which I can wait to share with you. Any guesses as to what color I picked?
While our little home was in the shop, we had them give it a good check up. We have put about 3,000 miles on the 50 year old trailer so we wanted to be sure it was good to go before we headed out West. We were all set to leave on Monday. Reservations in Smoky Mountain National Park were made. My meals for the week were planned, shopped and prepped. Then Mark’s phone rang. He’ll go into detail at some point, but parts needed to be ordered for the wheels. Long story short, we can’t head West until next week.
Want to know what my first thought was?
It wasn’t “Oh I get to sleep in a real bed for another week!”
or “Hot showers and easily made and cleaned up meals for a bit longer!”
or “TV! I get to watch more TV!”
It was “NOOOOO, I’M SO READY TO GET BACK TO OUR ADVENTURE!”
SAY WHAT?
That can only mean one thing! I’m really missing being on the road and our adventure. Yes, I’m MISSING it! That means I’m really liking it. It was a little internal epiphany that I thought I’d share since, well, some of my posts might make you think I’m not enjoying this and I’m just along for the ride.
I’m so excited about the next leg of our trip. Mountains, I LOVE them. I’ve never been out West for anything other than work trips. My eyes are going to see things they’ve never seen before!
I can hardly wait!
